Pencil
And another long hiatus.
However, I have to admit to myself I quite like these.
That's a first.
For a long time.

Red Collage
It's been way too long since I did something in my sketchbook. It was more fear than anything, fear that whatever I put in there would be crap, I wouldn't like it and it would be pointless.
I get like this a lot. It drives me crazy. The whole reason I'm doing this sketchbook thingy is so that I can over come that fear. This is not meant to be a pretty book. It's just meant to be a creative mind dump. Somewhere to try about experiments or get ideas on to paper. It is not perfect nor is it meant to be.
I need to remember this.
A BIG thanks to my good friend nini who encouraged me to post my stuff again :)

Rebranding?
Have been running hot and cold with "Tomato Tea" as of late. Was considering changing the name but have been advised otherwise. Probably a good thing.

3311
Was having trouble coming up with what to do today.
So why not do today?
After cutting out the date, I couldn't decide which effect to put in to the sketchbook. So I stuck both in.

A Lot of Circles and Some Fish.
Drawing lots of circles with coloured pencils is hard work.
It created quite a nice texture though.
Fish are cut from paper splattered with watercolours apart from the top left one which is cut from a colour pencil rubbing.

Woodcut Mimic
Technique from OneMinuteMuse.
Really like this technique. Will try this with different 'over' colours in future.

Splat
Had fun making a splatter picture using watercolour pans, a paint brush and a toothbrush.
Possibly my favourite pages so far.
Maybe.

An Eww and an Ewe.
Truly hate this page. Glad the picture is blurry too. I have no idea what made me think this was a good idea. I think i just wanted to fill this page with something so that i could do a double page.
In future, i think i'll just leave such pages blank.
On the flip side, i really enjoyed doodling this page. You can tell i had watched and been inspired by 'Shaun the Sheep'. I like pages like this, making the characters interact with each other and each having a little story and background.

Acrylics with felt tip pen on top... will use a permanent marker next time.
Inspired by a picture I took for i365 (Photo a Day taken with an iPhone)
I doodled this on the inside of an envelope whilst waiting for the acrylics to dry. Inspired by a pattern I saw in an Ikea Magazine.
Just more doodles and ideas.

Quite a Bit of Stuff
Sketchy scissors. Rushed in 15mins. Little cat, quick outline sketch (actually made on 31/01)
Lots of watercolour tests.
Buttons. For those that don't know me, i'm slightly obsessed.
Weird creatures. For the sake of it and because i'm feeling the itch to make soft toys.

Colour Experiment
This ATC did not like being soaked in water.
Not sure why I chose these colours. Reminds me of a sunset over the sea.

Robots
I never know what to draw. When i do, i don't know how to draw it. When i've drawn it, i don't know how to colour or render it.
I have no idea.
Tried 'Robots' today. I really want to get the hang of watercolours too.
But most of all, i just want to do it for the sake of enjoyment.

I don't like first posts much...
I always usually find that when I take materials with me to draw, sketch, paint, journal etc I never actually use them.
Yet, when I don’t have these materials to hand, I have this overwhelming urge to want to use them!
I want to try and get back into the habit of drawing and doodling. Perhaps not everyday but at least once a week.
Showing it to the world will be the hardest part, but also possibly the most rewarding too.
